Our world is in a state of crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused tens of thousands of lives to be lost and has ruined millions more. The world as we know it will never be the same. Without an end in sight, let’s rely on one proven method to slow the spread of this horrific nightmare: stay home. We can dig ourselves out of this isolating grave by staying at home.

In March of 2020, as stay-at-home orders went into effect across the country, Nightmare on Elm Street franchise actress Lisa Wilcox had the idea to create a Public Service Announcement to help curb the spread of COVID-19. To bring this vision to life, Lisa reached out to Chicago friends, including film producer and creative Ernesto Avina. Once involved, Ernesto placed the creative muscle in the hands of music producer and filmmaker James Wineman, aka Jimmy Con.

From there, #StopTheNightmare was born; a PSA short featuring Nightmare on Elm Street alum, and social media campaign dedicated to ARTISTS impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. As an artist, financial means revolve around gatherings, rehearsals, working on set, and live music. Thus, 100% of #StopTheNightmare donations and merchandise proceeds will go to The Artist Relief Project—an initiative to help artists, musicians and performers impacted.

Sing along to these words and spread the message of our song:

1, 2...COVID's Not The Flu

3, 4...Wash Your Hands Some More

5, 6...Zoom Your Therapist

7, 8...Don't Congregate

9, 10...Never See Your Friends

We, the Elm Street children, cast and crew alike, prompt everyone around the world to please heed the advice of the CDC and keep your distance. Let’s adapt to the new normal. Work on a home project you’ve put off for years, write a screenplay, do karate in your basement while listening to Dramarama, or simply kick back and watch Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

Our hearts are with COVID-19 victims, and frontline and essential workers who risk their lives every day to combat this virus and keep us afloat during this time.

Let's do it for everyone impacted. Let's...
